DENVER (KDVR) — The Colorado minimum wage is set to increase again as it continues to adjust for inflation per the state’s constitution.

According to the Department of Labor and Employment’s Division of Labor Standards and Statistics, the statewide minimum wage will increase to $15.71, a jump of about 3.6% from the current rate of $15.16.

The increase to $15.71 is a 41.5% increase from 2019’s minimum wage of $11.10, according to a press release.

The minimum wage in Colorado is annually adjusted for inflation using the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Consumer Price Index; however, the City and County of Denver use a different measure for inflation than the state as a whole:

  • Colorado uses the CPI for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U)
  • Denver uses the CPI for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W)

CPI-W tracks specifically urban households, focusing on the cost-of-living that “directly affects working-class earners.”
