10 to 12 cars damaged after driver ramps off median

DENVER (KDVR) — Police estimate 10 to 12 vehicles were damaged after a driver was accused of ramping off a median at high speed in Boulder in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the city of Boulder said in a press release on Tuesday afternoon.

Boulder police responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash that damaged about a dozen vehicles in a parking lot.

Just after 4 a.m., officers arrived in the area of 34th Street and Baseline Road and found a Subaru Outback on top of cars in the Williams Village parking lot on the University of Colorado Boulder campus.

Investigators said preliminary information indicates that a 34-year-old man was driving south on 34th Street, north of Baseline Road, and hit the grass median at a high rate of speed, likely going airborne, before crashing into multiple vehicles parked on the other side of Baseline Road.
