A statewide grand jury has indicted six people on 38 combined drug-related charges tied to a metro Denver-area distribution ring that authorities say ran a stash house out of an Aurora home and funneled drug proceeds to an alleged ringleader hiding in Mexico. Investigators seized more than 6.5 kilograms of illicit drugs during the probe, including over 19,000 counterfeit M30 pills containing fentanyl, along with $57,002 in drug proceeds.
The indictment was filed on August 24 and made public in a Tuesday news release from Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser’s office, as reported by the Denver Gazette. Named in the indictment are Luis Plantilla-Alonso, Juan Luis Rosales-Duran, Jorge Misael Cabello-Fernandez, Jose Salvador Del Real Ruiz, Mauricio Castellon Aldrete and Juan Carlos Nunez-Hernandez, all accused of purchasing, selling or conspiring to distribute illicit substances as part of a larger criminal enterprise that allegedly operated between October 2025 and June 2026.
Cabello-Fernandez is alleged to have been the operation’s ringleader. He remained in Mexico throughout the case and is believed to live in an area associated with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, according to the indictment described by the Gazette’s report. Bank transfer wire receipts obtained during the investigation showed the enterprise sending drug profits directly to him, according to the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, and money laundering charges make up a major component of the 38-count indictment.
Aurora Home Served as Alleged Stash House
Undercover operations led investigators to secure a search warrant for a home in Aurora that they believed served as the enterprise’s narcotics stash house, the Gazette’s report states. That search turned up more than 4,360 grams of illicit drugs, according to the indictment. Across the full investigation, agents seized over 3,727 grams of methamphetamine, more than 279 grams of heroin, more than 182 grams of fentanyl powder, and about 210 grams of cocaine, with the counterfeit fentanyl pills alone accounting for more than 2,150 grams, per the attorney general’s office…
