Second suspect arrested in Cimarron Hills shooting

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting and robbery at a home in the Cimarron Hills area in early July, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO).

On Monday, Aug. 31, EPSO detectives arrested 19-year-old Simon Botros with second-degree murder and robbery charges in connection with a shooting on July 7 at a home in the 2300 block of Reed Grass Way in the Cimarron Hills area.

Botros was previously arrested by the Colorado Springs Police Department on July 15 in connection with an unrelated robbery case.

On July 7 at around 1 a.m. EPSO got multiple reports of a shooting near the 2300 block of Reed Grass Way. Deputies were dispatched to the area and found a person, later identified as 39-year-old Michael Fell, with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts from EPSO and the Falcon Fire Protection District, Fell died at the scene…
