The fences, cones and heavy machinery that have occupied East Colfax Avenue since late 2024 will be going away — at least for a 2.5-mile section of the transit construction project.
On Sept. 27, the center bus lanes built as part of the Colfax bus rapid transit project will officially open, marking the end of the first phase of the disruptive construction project.
The city and local businesses will host a community celebration on Sept. 28. The completed segment runs between Broadway and Colorado Boulevard, but work has moved farther east…
