DENVER (KDVR) — A 40-year-old Thornton man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly threatening to kill several groups, including officials at the local, state and federal levels.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado, Kevin Tompkins faces four counts of making interstate threats to kill federal, state and local law enforcement officers.
The indictment, along with case filings, stated that Tompkins seriously threatened to kill multiple groups on a “major video sharing website” in June and July:
- Police officers
- FBI employees
- Muslim Americans
- Judges
- Prosecutors
According to the release, the indictment also charged Tompkins with possessing ammunition as a felon, after officials uncovered boxes of ammo in his home along with a book on manufacturing explosives.

“The web search history on Tompkins’ phone showed that, despite being prohibited from possessing firearms, he regularly visited websites through which guns are bought and sold in private transactions,” the release stated.
