The activist groups that helped turn Colorado into a sanctuary for illegal immigrants never seem to care about those who also broke other laws after illegally entering the U.S. So, it’s no surprise those same groups would recoil with indignation at a much-needed proposal on the Nov. 3 ballot making it easier to deport the lawbreakers.
What is disappointing, though, is that even some district attorneys would place politics above public safety by joining those same activists at a rally in Denver last week opposing Proposition 81.
The proposal would let state and local law enforcement resume collaboration with federal immigration authorities after a succession of laws enacted by Colorado’s sanctuary-minded legislature over the past several years had tied tied the hands of the state’s law officers…
