Teen reportedly caught going 44 mph over limit, running red lights

DENVER (KDVR) — A 16-year-old driver was reportedly caught traveling 44 mph over the speed limit and running several red lights, and his reason for the rush didn’t prove to be too convincing to the deputy who pulled him over.

The deputy spotted a driver speeding around Highway 83 and South Pinery Road in The Pinery area. According to the deputy, the driver was clocked at 99 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone and was also seen running two red lights.

The driver was identified as a 16-year-old who told the deputy that he was just trying to make it home before curfew.
