Man who intended to commit self-harm arrested for domestic violence after earlier shelter-in-place lifted

A man was arrested on domestic violence-related charges several hours after police spent nearly three-and-a-half hours attempting to coax him out of his house as he threatened to harm himself.

A shelter-in-place order was issued in Parker Thursday due to the barricaded man — 37-year-old Jonathan Jones — who was inside a house in the area of Neu Towne Parkway and Cedar Gulch Lane.

The shelter-in-place, which went into effect around 11:25 a.m. Thursday, was lifted by 1:25 p.m. that same day, though Jones remained in the house, police said in a news release on social media…
