An Alamosa County district judge has ordered Barry Morphew to be held on an increased $10 million cash-only bond following a series of alleged violations of his pretrial release conditions.
Morphew is currently awaiting trial for first-degree murder in connection with the 2020 disappearance and death of his wife, Suzanne Morphew. Her remains were discovered in 2023, with subsequent autopsies identifying traces of a restricted wildlife tranquilizer (BAM).
The Alleged Bond Violations
Morphew had previously been free on a $3 million bond, under strict court orders to remain at home unless traveling directly for work-related purposes.
