Denver’s District 6 police station set for $68M rebuild

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver’s District 6 police station could soon get a more than $68 million rebuild after years of flooding, failing infrastructure and limited space for officers and the public.

The new facility is planned for the corner of 16th Avenue and Washington Street. District 6 Commander Kimberly Bowser said the current building was never intended to be a police station.

“This building was never designed to be a police station. It was a medical facility, which we occupied in the mid-90s,” Bowser said.
