DENVER (KDVR) — A semi-truck crashed, spilling fuel onto Interstate I-76 before 8 a.m., and the interstate will remain closed through the morning hours until Colorado State Patrol’s hazmat team cleans up the spill.
In a press release on Tuesday, CSP said troopers responded after a semi-truck, hauling a trailer filled with asphalt, crashed after heading onto I-76 using the eastbound Sheridan Boulevard on-ramp. The initial investigation showed that the truck’s drive shaft broke, “damaging the hydraulic lines and puncturing the diesel fuel saddle tank.”

CSP reported no injuries. The agency included photos showing the fuel spill on the interstate.
I-76 is closed at the eastbound I-70 and I-76 interchange and the Sheridan Boulevard exit, according to CSP.
Officials do not know when the roadway will open back up and suggest drivers use other routes…
