Colorado golf course closed due to lack of water. Neighbors worry what’s next

A public golf course in Colorado has closed after running out of water.

Eagle Trace Golf Club in Broomfield, about halfway between Denver and Boulder, had its final rounds played on Oct. 3.

A statement on its website reads:

Eagle Trace will be closing permanently October 3, 2026. The drought in Colorado this year left us with very little water available, and has forced us to close as we will no longer be able to maintain the course. Thank you for everything!! The Staff of Eagle Trace
