DENVER — A strong October storm is bringing a good soaking of rain to the Front Range and heavy snow to the Colorado mountains through noon Thursday. Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins are expected to get 0.50 to 1.50 inches of rain. The north-central mountains could pick up 5 to 14 inches of snow, with even more in southern Colorado. The second half of the storm moves through Thursday morning into midday, bringing colder northwest flow. Some uncertainty remains over the track of the low Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Front Range Rain Totals

Totals are expected to drop off sharply east of Denver toward DIA, away from the strongest upslope flow. Areas south of the Palmer Divide, including Colorado Springs, may see only 0.25 to 0.75 inches.
Snow Possible on the Palmer Divide and Foothills
The foothills and Palmer Divide above 7,000 feet may see some snow Wednesday night into early Thursday. Up to 2 inches is possible near Castle Rock, though this part of the forecast is less certain…
