The suspect was arrested shortly after, while the uninjured 4-month-old girl was reunited with her parents
A Colorado mother and daughter rescued a 4-month-old infant on Wednesday after noticing the child in the middle of the road following a suspected carjacking , according to a local media report.
Vanesa Costa and her daughter Daisy Flores were driving through Northglenn, a suburb of Denver , when they noticed what appeared to be a black box in the road, according to a report by ABC 7 Denver . After they looked closer at the object, they determined it was a baby still in a car seat .
“We never leave our house that way,” Flores said. “We were like, ‘let’s go that way’ and we ended up finding a baby. That’s crazy!”
The pair retrieved the baby and began checking nearby homes to determine if the girl’s parents lived nearby. Police found Costa and Flores shortly after and determined that the baby was allegedly kidnapped when her family’s car was stolen outside a post office, according to ABC 7 Denver.
