DENVER (KDVR) — A man who was beating the odds in life by opening a popular coffee shop in downtown Denver was killed in a car crash this week.
Sharod Kindell opened that shop just down the street from Coors Field, and his family says it was thriving.

Coffee High Company on Blake Street, near Park Avenue, is a place so many people just love. Kindell founded it in the middle of the pandemic, and he was doing well.
His family said he was always trying to beat the odds. But on Wednesday morning, Kindell was in a car crash on Park Avenue at 17th. His passing has left his family devasted.
“Really hard. Really hard,” said his grandmother, Jane Landrum.
At 32 years old, Kindell had turned his life around after experiencing trouble with the law. That he wanted to open a coffee shop puzzled his family.
“His brother Donald said, ‘A coffee shop, bro? All these coffee shops? That’s a lot of competition!’ Sharod said, ‘It’s going to be different, bro. My bean is going to be different,’” said his mother, Sherri Landrum.
