The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Blas Nieto after he died in the hospital from his injuries.
“I asked a detective, was it an accident? He said you don’t just accidentally put a bullet in somebody’s back of their neck,” said Nieto’s sister, Sabrina Andazola. “My heart is broken. He didn’t deserve this. He was a good guy, and all he wanted to do is take care of his family and do the right thing.”

To loved ones, Nieto is known as Tony, a father of five. His youngest daughter recently underwent open heart surgery at 6 months old.
His family said Nieto was recently promoted to manager at his job.
