Person rescued after getting trapped in trash truck

DENVER ( KDVR ) — On Friday, Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a report of a person trapped in a trash truck.

Aurora Fire Rescue tweeted about the incident just before 6 a.m.

Crews with Heavy Rescue 5 responded to the intersection near 19th and Wheeling Street on reports of a person trapped in the back of a trash truck. The intersection is northeast of the University of Colorado Hospital.

According to AFR, crews were successfully able to extract the person who sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police looking for car connected to possible attempted kidnapping

The person was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

It was not immediately clear how the individual got into the trash truck.

Recently in New Hampshire, local fire crews experienced a similar situation.

On Jan. 31, the Manchester Fire Department said a woman fell into a dumpster while throwing out her garbage and was later rescued from a trash truck that had compacted the contents while she was inside.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
