Caught on camera: Minivan crashes into Aurora home

DENVER (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department said weather and speed appeared to be factors in a crash in Aurora Saturday morning.

APD said the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. in the 300 block of South Peoria Circle.

The driver of a minivan lost control, crashing into two homes near Peoria Street and Peoria Circle.

APD said the driver was northbound on Peoria Street, turning left onto Peoria Circle and was driving too fast for the weather and road conditions.

The result required extrication by Aurora Fire Rescue. The driver suffered minor injuries.

FOX31 obtained security camera footage from a neighbor that shows the minivan driving into a mailbox before crashing off camera.

Sam Weed’s home is one of the two that was damaged.

“I was actually sitting in my garage, and I heard a loud bang and crash, and it appears that a minivan was traveling northbound on Peoria and hit a fence a block down and ended up coming through our yard, hit the corner of my house behind me and then hit the neighbor’s house,” Weed said.
