Denver could get 6 inches of snow in 12 hours, up to 18 in mountains

Up to six inches of snow could land in Denver during a 12-hour period from Friday night to Saturday morning at 5 a.m. The one-in-10 chance ‘high-end’ forecast from the National Weather Service shows this heavier accumulation in the Mile High City, with up to 7 inches in Boulder and up to 18 inches on peaks in the Winter Park area. Steamboat Springs and mountains north of Glenwood Springs could also get double-digit totals in this ‘high-end’ snowfall scenario. South of Denver, Colorado Springs could get up to three inches.
