Denver Weather: Highs to hit the 60s before rain and snow mix arrives Thursday night

Weather in the Denver area is expected to be cloudy with a high near 49 according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

A storm system passing to the north of Colorado will bring light snow to the mountains this afternoon and evening. Snowfall amounts are expected to be less than 3 inches. It will become windy in the Front Range Mountains and Foothills Sunday night with gusts to 60 mph.

There will be multiple periods of snow in the mountains this upcoming week. The heaviest snow will fall in the Park Range Wednesday through Thursday, and it will create hazardous travel conditions during that time. The plains will have a chance of a mix of rain and snow late Wednesday into Thursday.

Presidents Day (Washington’s Birthday) : Sunny, with a high near 60. South southwest wind around 9 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. West southwest wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.
