University of Colorado approves $6.28 billion budget

DENVER (KDVR) — The University of Colorado Board of Regents approved a $6.28 billion budget for the 2024-25 school year.

The 3.5% budget increase comes with a 3% tuition increase for many students in the system’s schools.

Specifically, tuition for all undergraduate students at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and the University of Colorado Denver will increase by 3%.

Incoming University of Colorado Boulder students will also see a 3% increase. However, current CU Boulder students will not. These tuition increases were originally approved in April.

According to the university system, the $6.28 billion budget includes $2.2 billion tied directly to educating students, $1.5 billion for clinical health care and more than $1.1 billion for research.

Salary and benefit increases for faculty and staff are also included in the budget.
