AURORA, Colo. (KKTV) – June 27 marks a somber anniversary for Aurora, which saw its first line-of-duty death in police department history on this day in 1981. Officer Debra Corr of the Aurora Police Department was killed during a struggle with who she thought at the time was a drunk driver with existing warrants. The suspect disarmed Corr while she was trying to arrest him and shot her with her own weapon.
