Damaging wind possible Tuesday: What to know

DENVER ( KDVR ) — A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Tuesday due to strong and damaging winds that could push across the Front Range this afternoon.

The Pinpoint Weather team is tracking a fast-moving storm system that will help develop strong gusts of up to 80 mph in some areas.

Timing

While Tuesday is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day, the bulk of the damage and the storm will only last a few hours.

The Pinpoint Weather team said this storm won’t last long. It is expected to hit the Front Range between 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday before ultimately exiting the state by 7 p.m. During this time, a north and south line of thunderstorms will race across the Front Range and exit through the Eastern Plains.
