Antonio Pierce’s Message About the Raiders Quarterback Problem Says it All

For the first 20 minutes of Sunday’s game, the Las Vegas Raiders had things rolling. They had a 10-3 lead, and were just yards away from a touchdown that would have extended that lead even further.

Then, Gardner Minshew missed a wide-open Brock Bowers, and things quickly unraveled. The pass was intercepted by Patrick Surtain, who took it nearly 100 yards for a pick six . The game was tied at 10, and from there on the Denver Broncos ran away with things.

Minshew stayed in the game, but did essentially nothing after that terrible play. He eventually threw another bad interception late in the third quarter, which caused Antonio Pierce to bring in Aidan O’Connell to replace him.

Despite benching Minshew, when asked about his plans for a starter in Week 6, Pierce declined to make a commitment to either player, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Minshew was decent to start the game, including a long touchdown pass to Bowers. However, when things got bad, they got very bad. His final statline includes him completing 12 of 17 passes for just 137 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
