Police looking for armed man, Aurora community college on secure status

DENVER ( KDVR ) — An Aurora community college was placed on secure status while police look for a man wanted for allegedly robbing a woman at gunpoint.

Just after 8 a.m. Wednesday, the Community College of Aurora posted on X that the CentreTech Campus was placed on secure status. This means everyone inside the building must remain inside and no one else is allowed to enter.

All exterior doors have been locked, according to the school. The college is asking students to not attend classes until police confirm the school is secure.

According to the Aurora Police Department, officers are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint near Chambers Road and Alameda Avenue.

Police said the man was wearing all black and had a black ski mask on.

The CentreTech Campus is located at 16000 East CentreTech Pkwy. The campus sits near multiple Aurora Public School offices, like the ESC office and educational services centers.
