Another day, another declaration of what Colorado music fans have known since 1941: Red Rocks is the best place to see a concert anywhere.
No wait, make that two.
Red Rocks, “is the gold standard of iconic music venues in America, full stop,” the editors at Thrillist have just decreed in a rundown of “the 12 coolest concert venues in the U.S. It goes on:
“Any hardcore music fan who has the resources has made the pilgrimage to the striking 9,525-person venue, which is instantly recognizable from its massive natural rock walls, and any artist who plays Red Rocks for the first time considers it a sort of graduation to the next level of fame.”
Opined Colorado Gov. Jared Polis on social: “It’s no surprise that Red Rocks lands atop another list as one of the best concert venues.”
Other beauties following the leader: The Gorge, a 27,500-capacity amphitheater in George, Wash.; The Sphere in Las Vegas; Preservation Hall in New Orleans, the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, N.J.; and the original Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, N.M. Not bad company!
