Broomfield police arrest three people in connection to shooting on U.S. 36

The Broomfield Police Department arrested three people in connection with a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon.

According to a release, 21-year-old Rodolfo Piedra and two juveniles were arrested.

Around 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Northwest Parkway and U.S. 36 when they found a man who had been grazed by a bullet, according to the release.

Although he was treated and released at the scene, police noted that his vehicle had been hit several times.

The investigation is ongoing but detectives believe road rage may have been a contributing factor, according to the release.

When police spotted and attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle, the driver eluded, eventually crashing in the area of Sheridan Boulevard and 58th Avenue. According to the release, Piedra and the two juveniles attempted to run but were arrested nearby with the help of surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Piedra was then booked into the Broomfield Detention Center on suspicion of two counts of attempted first-degree murder, motor vehicle theft and felony eluding.
