A memorial featuring photos and momentos stands in the spot where 24-year-old Dillion Bueno was shot and killed on Oct. 31, 2015.

“Every year that memory just plays,” Lucy Bueno, Dillon’s mother, said. “I get anxiety every Halloween.”

Dillon was outside his family’s home after handing out candy on Halloween night when three masked suspects attempted to rob him.

When he told them he had nothing to offer they shot him and left the scene.

Now, nine years later, the family still has few answers.

“It’s really frustrating because we’re up to like 15-16 cards on the detectives that have worked on his case,” Lucy said.

Every day that passes gets harder for the family.

“You made my son take his last breaths in my arms,” said Leo Bueno, Dillon’s father with tears in his eyes. “I’ll never forget it.”
