Weather around metro Denver on Monday stays warm and above seasonal averages ahead of what could be a white Christmas Day on Wednesday.
Denver residents can expect mostly cloudy skies today, with a high near 57, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Light and variable winds become south around 5 mph.
“Light snow is expected over the high mountains today and evening, decreasing after midnight,” the NWS said. “Accumulations of 2 to 6 inches are possible by dawn Tuesday morning. Hazardous winter driving conditions can be expected.”
Tonight it’ll be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 31. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph in the evening.
Christmas Eve Tuesday warms even further, with highs sliding into the 60s, but come Christmas Day, much needed precipitation is in the forecast, with a rain/snow mix possible by evening through overnight Thursday.
The average high for Christmas Day in Denver is 43.3 degrees. Christmas Day 2024 is forecast to be between 6-7 degrees warmer than average.
