‘We want to feel safe’: Aurora jewelry store break in caught on camera

AURORA Colo, (KDVR) — Aurora police are looking for the culprits caught on camera who broke into a family-owned jewelry store.

They damaged the showcases and left the store after stealing tens of thousands of dollars in jewelry.

For store manager Jessie Amador at Angel’s Jewelry on Sable Boulevard, selling beautiful jewelry has been his passion for the last 22 years.

“We’re just a hardworking family, just trying to stay afloat,” said Jessie.

As he and his staff were preparing for the busiest time of the year, they learned the disturbing news.

“At about 4:48 this morning we got a phone call from the police department saying that we had a break-in,” said Amador. “We came over here and at that point we found our doors had been jammed open and it looks as if they used a pry bar.”

The store’s surveillance camera captured the thieves breaking into the store.

“We calculated about $30,000 in damages and that’s on the low end. That’s what we have been able to determine so far,” Amador said.
