Among the vehicles hit was a fire truck with the Larkspur Fire Protection District, as well as a fire truck from Castle Rock and an ambulance.

All this was happening on a stretch of I-25  where emergency responders say rain snow and ice came fast with no warning.

“I just can’t stress enough: These conditions are just momentary and after that, there’s nothing you can do. There was just no warning,”  Larkspur Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Charles Walden said.

Larkspur Fire, along with other agencies, evaluated 37 people in at least 20 vehicles.
