DENVER ( KDVR ) — Get your best cowboy attire ready, the National Western Stock Show Kick-Off Parade is a week from Thursday.
On Thursday, Jan. 9 at noon, downtown Denver will be flooded with boots, chaps, cowboy hats and cattle to usher in the 119-year-old Colorado tradition.
Aside from the cowboys and cowgirls, an array of over 30 Longhorn cattle, horses and western wagons will trot down the streets of downtown Denver.
The parade is presented by CommonSpirit Health and will start at Union Station, trot down 17th Street and end at Glenarm Place.

The parade will then return down 18th Street and end at the Stock Show Fair at McGregor Square. The fair will have McNicholas Miniatures therapy horses, western royalty, a food market, and more, according to the stock show.
Plan for increased traffic and road closures if you go downtown.
Chief meteorologist and Colorado ambassador, Kathy Sabine, has been named grand marshal and will lead the parade.
