The Denver City Council will consider Monday contracting with Urban Peak for $1.9 million for one year to provide shelter to homeless youth.
Wraparound support services would be provided to youths between the ages of 12 and 24. “Supportive services include but are not limited to meals, showers and restrooms, laundry services and facilities, mail services, and storage space for personal items,” according to a memo from city staff to council. “Programming includes case management, resource navigation, dental care, access to Urban Peak’s medical clinic and referrals to clinical mental health services.”
Additional services would include housing navigation and access to educational and employment opportunities to help clients successfully exit to stable or permanent housing. The contract employs 17.5 full-time and part-time positions, according to the memo, and approximately 950 households will be served in 2025. That’s $2,000 spent per individual.
