Commerce City police investigate shooting that injured 1 at convenience store

DENVER (KDVR) — One person was injured in a shooting at a convenience store in Commerce City on Monday night.

The Commerce City Police Department said officers were at a gas station’s parking lot at the intersection of East 64th Avenue and Holly Street. The department said the shooting occurred at about 7:30 p.m.

The gas station is across the street from Central Elementary School.

Not many details were made available Monday night, but detectives reported that a male victim was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Just after midnight on Tuesday, Commerce City police said a suspect was in custody . No further details on the investigation were released.
