A Colorado man has been indicted in federal court on distribution charges after several pounds of narcotics were reportedly seized during a traffic stop on Interstate 15 in Beaver County in November.
The defendant, 27-year-old Carl Lonnell Whittington, of Denver, Colorado, was indicted Dec. 10 in the U.S. District Court on one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, according to the indictment filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Angela Reddish-Day that was unsealed last month.
The federal case was filed following an incident that took place during the early morning hours of Nov. 21, when a Utah Highway Patrol trooper stopped a Dodge Charger on northbound I-15 near milepost 124, just north of Beaver City, according to charging documents filed at the time of the arrest…
