DENVER ( KDVR ) — It’s warming up in Denver, but winter isn’t over yet. While Denver will climb to near 60 degrees on Tuesday, other areas across the state could see as much as a foot of snow.
Denver will have a high of 57 degrees on Tuesday, but a change comes by mid-morning when snow moves across the western side of the state. Denver will stay warm with some rain, but snowflakes could push through the Front Range on Tuesday night.
Denver weather: Breezy and warm, higher fire danger Monday
Here’s how much snow will fall across Colorado:
- Western Slope: 4-9 inches
- Palmer Divide: A dusting
- Along Interstate 70: 6-12 inches
- Vail: 6 inches
- Aspen: 8 inches
Winter weather advisories are in effect from 6 a.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday west of the Continental Divide, which is when the bulk of the snow will fall. The snow should taper off early Wednesday morning or late Tuesday night, and light flurries could continue Wednesday afternoon in the mountains.
Denver will remain warm with highs close to 60 degrees on Tuesday accompanied by some potential rain, but some could see potential flurries on Wednesday with no accumulation.
