WESTMINSTER, CO – When 36-year-old Lorenzo Chivers left for work that Sunday morning, no one could have predicted it would be the last time anyone saw him alive. Even more unthinkable? He wasn’t the only one to vanish. By nightfall, Lorenzo, his boss Paul Skiba, and Paul’s 9-year-old daughter, Sarah, had seemingly disappeared into thin air. One routine workday. One moving truck. And three lives gone without a trace.
According to the Westminster Police Department, Lorenzo worked for Tuff Movers, located at 7010 Raleigh Street in Westminster, Colorado. His boss, Paul, owned the company and shared custody of Sarah with his ex-wife, Michelle. That weekend, like every other, Sarah was with her dad. She accompanied him to work on February 7, 1999, and Lorenzo met the two at the business around 8:30 a.m.
From there, the day unfolded like any other moving gig. Authorities report that the trio headed to Thornton around 10:30 a.m., stopped in Lakewood for lunch at 12:50 p.m., took on another job in Morrison, and then one more in the Golden area. They returned to the Tuff Movers lot by 6:15 p.m. Records show that Sarah placed a phone call at 6:22 p.m. Then—silence. No one has seen or heard from them since.…
