#1 Coors Brewing Company (Molson Coors)
Colorado’s Coors Brewing Company (Molson Coors) has been in Golden, Colorado since 1873. The iconic brewery is a household name for both Coors Light and Banquet Beers. Coors Brewing’s market capitalization is approximately $11.8 billion as of March 2025.
Chipotle Mexican Grill
Coloradans have loved the menu at Chipotle Mexican Grill for more than 30 years now. It is crazy to think it has been around that long. Chipotle got started in 1993, selecting the old Dolly Madison ice cream shop on East Evans Avenue in Denver as their first location. As of March 2025, Chipotle’s stock is trading at around $55 per share.
Crocs Footwear
Crocs have been around since 2002, but they became popular in 2006 with the release of the film Idiocracy. Everyone in the film wears Crocs, which helped to catapult the brand’s popularity. Crocs headquarters is in Broomfield, Colorado. Market capitalization has reached $6.24 billion, and their stock trades at $106.98 USD.
Otterbox Products
If there is one Colorado company I can’t thank enough, it’s Otterbox. While I think the product is vastly overpriced, their many iPhone cases have saved my ass multiple times over the last 20 years. Headquartered in Fort Collins, Otterbox Products is rumored to be valued at about $2.5 billion or more.
Celestial Seasonings Tea
Colorado’s Celestial Seasonings Tea was founded in 1969 in Boulder, Colorado. Mo Siegel and Wyck Hay are said to have started this company by gathering wild herbs from around the Rocky Mountains. Hope they did not pick any wildflowers.
By 1984 their company was purchased by Kraft. Hain Food Group (Hain Celestial Group) then purchased Celestial Seasonings from Kraft in 2000 for about $390 million. That’s some fancy tea. Purchase all the Sleepytime tea your heart desires at 4600 Sleepytime Dr, Boulder, CO 80301.
