Up to 24″ of snow still expected in Colorado, with two more waves of snow after that

Snowfall to start the month of April is set to keep rolling in Colorado, with a current wave of snow hitting the state throughout the week, another storm expected this weekend, and one next week behind that.

According to the National Weather Service, many Colorado peaks should still get between eight and 24 additional inches of snow between Tuesday at noon and Friday morning in the most likely scenario. In the high-end scenario, those deeper totals are quite a bit more widespread, with totals in the eight to 12 inch range extended into lower elevation mountain valleys, as well.

In both scenarios, the I-25 corridor is mostly missed with the exception of the stretch of road between Colorado Springs and Castle Rock. The I-70 corridor, however, could get hit with up to 18 inches of snow – likely enough to cause some significant travel concerns…
