DENVER ( KDVR ) — A woman was sentenced to 25 years in prison for murdering a 16-year-old in an east Denver apartment in 2021.
On Thursday, Denver District Attorney John Walsh announced that Ashlye Handy, 37, was sentenced to 25 Years in the Colorado Department of Corrections. This comes after Handy was convicted in January of second-degree murder for the deadly shooting of 16-year-old Abrehem Yohhanes.
The Denver Police Department first looked into this case after Yohhanes was found dead on Sept. 15, 2021, at 1437 N Yosemite St., an apartment building in Denver. This is in the East Colfax neighborhood…
