EDITORIAL: Colorado grows government, not jobs

Colorado is at the forefront of states that are creating jobs — on the taxpayers’ tab, that is.

But when it comes to adding the private-sector jobs that pay the rent and put food on the table for most Coloradans — the Centennial state is near the back of the pack.

That’s the alarming upshot of a new report that tallies public-sector vs. private-sector job growth in Colorado and other states. The findings, by Colorado’s Common Sense Institute, should come as a wake-up call to the state’s policymakers, who seem to be doing their level best to grow government while killing investment in the private sector at the same time…
