Residents call for safety measures after several vehicle crashes into homes

AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — Another crash where a vehicle slammed into a home — the fourth we’ve covered just in the last three weeks.

The latest crash happened Wednesday around 9:15 p.m. in the 2200 block of South Sable Boulevard. Horace Tolliver, the homeowner, says he, along with other neighbors, has complained to their city leaders because it’s not the first time they’ve had trouble like this.

Tolliver has lived in the neighborhood for 17 years. In that time, he says three of his cars have been totaled and four mailboxes have been replaced.

He says drivers often treat the area like a racetrack and something needs to be done to stop it. This is the sight that people living in the area saw.

“I hear this loud explosion,” said Tolliver. “The first thing that came to mind is there was a call for rain, so at first I thought it was a giant thunderstorm,”

It wasn’t. Instead, it was a truck slamming into his home…
