Historic $1.9M home built in 1886 for sale in Cheesman Park neighborhood
The inn is known for its five guest suites, as well as its wedding and event space. The suites come with private bathrooms, a jacuzzi bath and a commercial kitchen. While the Victorian mansion has been in the Highland neighborhood for over a century, it wasn’t always an inn.
When it was first built in 1890, the listing agent said John Mouat, the owner of Mouat Lumber, built the home for his wife and five children and a third-floor ballroom for teas, dances and social functions for Denver’s elite.
Mouat left his mark on Denver, and not just with the inn. His company went on to build more than 200 buildings from 1892 to 1898 in Denver. While his home is no longer a single-family residence, it could become one again soon.
