DENVER (KDVR) — Denver’s off-road vehicle users are often complained about as they take over streets, ignore traffic laws and block traffic to perform stunts.
On May 2, Denver police noticed a group of motorists riding dirt bikes and ATVs at the intersection of Speer Boulevard and Wewatta Street, who were “performing dangerous stunts.” The agency said the riders were blocking traffic, running red lights and “creating serious hazards for both drivers and pedestrians.”

The Denver Police Department reported that the District 6 IMPACT officers kept an eye on the group until they stopped at a gas station near Speer Boulevard and North Zuni Street.
With assistance from two District 1 officers, they moved in and contacted the group. They tried to flee, according to the department, but two were taken into custody after a brief foot chase. They were reportedly riding ATVs, which were seized by the police, alongside a dirtbike that was abandoned by another rider…
