Man accused of spreading gasoline throughout chapel at UCHealth hospital

AURORA, Colo. — A man faces charges after firefighters responded to the chapel of UCHealth hospital in Aurora earlier this week and discovered that gasoline had been poured onto the floor, ceiling, and other areas.

Firefighters responded to the chapel on Tuesday after a hospital worker went in there around 5:30 p.m. and noticed a strong odor of gasoline.

That worker notified UCHealth security officers, who reviewed surveillance video of the hallway near the chapel entrance. According to an arrest affidavit, the video showed a man wearing black and green pants and a jacket. He had a backpack and was holding what appeared to be a bottle…
