DENVER (KDVR) — In movies, whenever there is a mass city emergency or apocalyptic event, sirens blare an eerie sound that raises the tension in the scene. Those sirens are not only a Hollywood invention to increase the stakes, they actually exist in most major cities.
Major cities within Tornado Alley are probably well acquainted with sirens.
Residents in Denver might not have ever heard the sirens, or at least haven’t heard them frequently, which is actually a good thing. It would be much better never to hear the sirens because that means major emergencies are being avoided…
