Police arrest suspect after fishtailing through backyards, damaging several properties

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A man is in custody after a chaotic series of events Monday afternoon that included a crash into a garage, a home intrusion and extensive property damage across a Wheat Ridge neighborhood, police said.

Around 1:45 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the area of West 29th Avenue and Ingalls Street after an SUV crashed into a garage, according to the Wheat Ridge Police Department (WRPD). At the same time, a second 911 caller reported that a male suspect entered their home about a block away and shoved them before fleeing, police said.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Tyler Robert Norkett was arrested shortly after police surrounded a nearby property and issued commands. He was reportedly taken into custody by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office without incident…
