Castle Rock Church Donates Backpacks to Support Inmates’ Transition Back to Society

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office took to social media to express their gratitude towards The First United Methodist Church of Castle Rock for a recent act of generosity. The church donated 48 backpacks filled with necessities to the county’s Detention Center, aimed at supporting individuals on their transition back to society. The donation contained backpacks filled with hygiene and personal care products, including towels, socks, and essential toiletry items.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, it’s mentioned that these backpacks are a part of The First United Methodist Church’s endeavor to show “God’s love for prisoners.” Included in the backpacks are useful items like a calendar/planner, pen and paper, and grocery store gift cards.
