DENVER — Denver’s revitalized 16th Street corridor kicked off summer with a two-day festival, marking the completion of a $175 million renovation project that transformed the former 16th Street Mall into simply “16th Street.” The city invested in rejuvenating the downtown corridor, with businesses and officials expressing optimism about the area’s economic future.
The Downtown Denver Partnership paid an agency $100,000 to rebrand the mall, dropping the “Mall” designation as part of the comprehensive overhaul. Kourtney Garrett, CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership, said the organization expects continued business growth now that downtown is reopening and thriving.
